Abstract: This 2025 clinical study evaluates the impact of a 24-week jumping exercise intervention on children with short stature. Results demonstrate that structured physical activity significantly accelerates height growth (4.32cm vs. 2.48cm) by optimizing the GH-IGF-1-IGFBP-3 axis rather than increasing resting morning GH levels. The exercise protocol enhances growth potential by reducing inhibitory IGFBP-3 and increasing the molar ratio of active IGF-1.
Scientific Logic: Vertical mechanical loading from jumping reduces serum binding protein inhibitors, thereby increasing the bioavailability of growth factors for epiphyseal chondrocytes.
